Gwen Watson Christensen

Gwen Watson Christensen, 87, of Moroni, Utah passed Friday morning March 9, 2012 in her sleep. Gwen was born November 9, 1924 in Spring City, Utah to Bert and Lola Watson. She married Eslie D Christensen on July 27, 1951 in the Manti Temple. Together they raised a family of seven missionaries; James E. (Deceased), Brent D. (Norma), Moroni; Garth W., Moroni; Janette (James L. Johnson), S. Jordan, Mark Alan (Sharon), Moroni, Lisa, Moroni, and Craig W. (Soofie) of Salem. Gwen attended school in Spring City and Mt. Pleasant. She served in the Eastern States Mission – NewYork and Pennsylvania areas. Later she and Eslie served together in the Washington Spokane Mission and as ordinance workers at the Manti Temple. Mom always lived by the motto: “A job worth doing is worth doing well”..
Gwen is survived by her children; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Wanda Cahoon, Karma Startup, FaNon Cook and brother Grant Watson. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James E, brother Jack Watson.
The family expresses their appreciation to Golden Skyline Assisted Living staff and residents, Central Valley Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moroni Stake Center with the viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.. A viewing will also be held Wednesday, March 14, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be in the Moroni City Cemetery.
