Roberta “Bobbie” Louise Whitman 85 of Wales, UT passed away July 8, 2012 at Heritage Hills Care Center in Nephi, UT. She was born May 20, 1927 in Seattle, WA to John Albin & Midred R Hulbert Nelson. Bobbie was known as Ma to many. She married Don Merton Whitman May 26, 1945 in Seattle, WA, later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 6, 1962. She had many callings in the LDS church including Librarian, Relief Society teacher, visiting teacher and compassionate service. Bobbie enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, cross stitching, cooking, baking, reading, the chaos of animals of all sorts, grand and great grandchildren. Survived by her husband of 67 years, Don Whitman; children, Linda Diane (Harold) Anderson, Grass Valley, CA; Sheryl “Sherry” Lynn Stonestreet; Wales, UT; Richard Alan (Cida) Whitman, Midvale, UT; brother, George (Nancy) Nelson, Yelm, WA; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services Thursday July 12, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Sanpitch LDS Chapel in Wales, UT. Friends may call Thursday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at the church prior to services.
