RielDonaldMenCropDonald Joseph Riel passed away suddenly at home on October 25, 2014, at the age of 65. Donald was born October 26, 1949, in McKenzie Island, Ontario, Canada to Luke Joseph and Lucia Marie Hogue Riel. He married Melba Lorraine Newland on May 17, 1969, in Los Angeles, CA. Together they enjoyed bird watching, camping and golfing. Survived by his wife Melba Riel of Spring City, UT; siblings, Elaine (James) Jensen, Menifee, CA; Dolores (Billy) Cobb, Montpelier, ID; Henry (Margaret) Riel, Quincy, CA; Eva Cobb, Baldwin Park, CA; Gail Simpson, La Puente, CA; Wilfred Riel, Baldwin Park, CA; Margaret (Vincent) Espinosa, Palmdale, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be held Wednesday October 29, 2014, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Spring City Historic LDS Church. Reception at the same time in the cultural hall. Interment Friday October 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fillmore City Cemetery.
