SnyderBarbaraBarbara M. Snyder, lifelong resident of Fillmore, UT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 19, 2017 at Alta Ridge Memory Care, Sandy, UT.
Barbara was born on April 23, 1928 in St. George, Utah to William A. and Ruth B. Mundy. They, along with her brother William B. Mundy, moved to Cedar City, Utah and then a short time later moved to Fillmore. She graduated from Millard High School where she was active in many student organizations including band and pep club. She met Mont Snyder at a Snyder Family outing in Fillmore Canyon and later they were married on September 20, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Barbara’s professional career included positions with many local companies, but most notable was her position as Fillmore City Treasurer that she held for 21 years. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her and her family until her eye sight declined to a level that it was no longer possible. She also liked to read, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially, during Thanksgiving and Christmas. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing with her friends in the HI Lights. The group performed at local functions and put on an annual Christmas concert for over 20 years. Later in life, Barbara and Mont served an LDS church mission to Cove Fort where they met many new friends and renewed friendships with many old ones.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Mont L. Snyder, her parents, William A. and Ruth B. Mundy, and her brother, William B.. Mundy. She is survived by her son, Gary Snyder and wife Diana Baxter. Grandchildren, Matthew G.
