McKinneyLoriaCropLoria Mae Gibby McKinney, 88 of Bountiful, UT passed away December 19, 2017. She was born January 16, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA to James Melvin Gibby and Bonita Mae Bingham as the third of five children.

Following WWII Loria met Hawley Grant McKinney of Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on 28 August 1946. And so began the greatest love story we have ever witnessed.

Our Mother and Father loved us unconditionally and because we saw their love for each other we knew that we were greatly blessed with parents who loved us. Their eternal marriage blessed them with 8 children, six of whom they raised to adulthood. The loss of Nathan and Bonita was heartbreaking for this young couple. Through their faith in Christ and His infinite Atonement they were blessed with peace. Through these hard things, came the understanding that the trials of life and opposition were blessings to make one stronger.

We learned how to show Love for God and Christ, love for spouse and love for children, through our Mother.

Our Mother was often seen as the quiet, stalwart supporter of others. She was also smart, beautiful, diligent, spiritually strong, generous, kind and she knew how to work. She knew how to be our best friend growing up and grow up to be our friend.

Loria is survived by her children, Hawley Haws, Rona Jurgens (Jim Jurgens), Lance McKinney (Cheryl McKinney), Shaun Wright (Phill Wright) Daron McKinney (Melinda McKinney), Shannon McKinney (Robyn McKinney), 49 grandchildren, 110 Great-grand children with 4 on the way, one great-great-grand child plus her sister Maureen Beazer (Adrian Beazer). Preceded in death by her parents; husband Grant; children, Nathan and Bonita; siblings, Neal Gibby, LaDean Griffin and Ronald Gibby.
