grandmaNella Jane Winkler Watts, 89, Nella Jane passed peacefully on February 25, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Kayleen Rosalee Boone, in Red Bluff, California. Nella Jane was born July 11, 1928 in Anaheim, Orange County, California. She was the daughter of Charles Lloyd and Rose Lee Winkler. She was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake, Utah LDS Temple to Clifford Bowen Watts of Kanosh, Utah on September 1, 1948. He proceeded her in death on May 10, 2009. Upon their passing, they were reunited with two children, Sarah and Martin who passed at birth. Nella Jane is survived by her children and their spouses, Clifford (Linda) Watts, of Roseville, Ca, Charles (Jacque) Watts, of Chico, Ca, Marvan (Sandy) Watts, of Lake Plumas, Ca, Kayleen (Dan) Boone, of Red Bluff, Ca, Lloyd (Diane) Watts, of Rio Linda, Ca., 33 Grandchildren, 73 Great grandchildren, and 2 Great, great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Nella found joy in nature, music, her family, and her faith. This was evident in her continued service in various capacities within her church. She served as pianist, organist, in the Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society organizations. Additionally, she spent many years with her husband, serving as a missionary for the LDS church. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Nella was an avid genealogist and family historian. She was known for her “green thumb” and spent hours in her garden. She loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held for Nella Jane Winkler Watts, 89, a resident of Red Bluff, California, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Kanosh, Utah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, designated to the humanitarian and missionary funds.
