MagnussonOkeCropOn Friday May 24, 2019 Oke Martin Magnusson Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife Sindy, daughter Shaylynn (Jared), grandkids Emily and Leland, sister Bonnie, friend Jeff and the loving staff at Laurel Grove.
Oke was born on April 9, 1956 in Denver, Colorado to Oke Sr. and Vangie Magnusson where he continued on to California and then Utah. He was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Joiner of America and a Millwright Union Local 1607 for 18 years.
He married as he puts it, “The love of his life” whom he waited 50 years for, in Manti, Utah on February 1, 2013. They became a united family with Shaylynn, Jared, Fred, Richard and two grandkids Emily and Leland.
Oke was very fond and proud of telling whom ever he came in contact with his story on how he met his wife Sindy, the love of his life. He had a passion for old model vehicles, he loved the wind in his face, he called it free (freedom). He was so full of life and so very positive, caring, giving, compassionate and thoughtful of others before himself.
He loved to fish, the sun, water crafts, being with his family and friends, traveling, working on cars. He loved the outdoors and he loved his Oke adventures. Oke always had a smile on his face.
Oke was preceded in death his father Oke Sr., mother Vangie, son Frederick, sister-in-law Marijo, grandson Naythan. He is survived by his wife Sindy Magnusson, children Shaylynn, Jared, Richard; grandkids Emily and Leland; siblings Bonnie, Carlos, Carlene, Mike, Nerissa, Steve; in-laws Wonetta and Charles Parker, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to family, friends and associates who have shown their love, care, compassion and concerns during his happy and difficult times and all heath care services who have aided in Oke’s care.
