Dear Family of Jess: I was so sad to see his obituary today. Jess was a dear friend of my childhood and we spent many happy hours together. Jess, “The Spastic” and me, Bashful Bobby”. Crazy things like both of us in a one man rubber raft fishing in Strawberry Reservoir. The waves came over the sides and carried our lunch away but that made fishing even better. We stayed up all night and put a new engine in his ’58 chevrolet and when we tried to start it we found the engine we had bought was froze up and we had to start all over again. He called me when his mother passed away and asked me to speak at her funeral, which I did. She was a wonderful mother and friend. I love Jess and pray for you as a family with this lost. Please let me know when the celebration of his life will be. My thoughts are with you and for him.

I worked with Jess at the mine office at The Bingham Canyon Mine. Jess helped me navigate the bureaucracy and culture for which I will always be grateful. He was a kind and caring man, I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my closest cousin is in heaven. As kids we were great friends and mischief makers. As adults, life took us to different places, but we were still close in heart. Jess was a special cousin, friend, man, father, son and grandfather. No one will ever forget him if he was part of their life. May God bless his wife, children and grandchildren as they work through this loss.
