BlackStanleyCropStanley Meade Black, 80 beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away August 27, 2019 at the Community Living Center in Centerfield, Utah. He was born May 25, 1939 in Salina, Utah to Douglas and Velma Jensen Black. He was 1 of 5 children.

Stan grew up in Redmond, Utah. He worked in the coal mine, the gypsum plant and at the local gas station. He had the greatest pink T-Bird he would cruise around town in. He met the love of his life, Erlene Hamilton in Salina. They were married on July 19, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to California and Stan worked as a carpenter. He then became a shop foreman at a production company in Montebello, CA. They were proud parents of one daughter, Cheryl Black, who was the next love of his life. They lost Erlene on May 24, 1972.

Stan married again in 1973 – 1987 & 1985 – 1990 to Katherine Duckett and they were together for 13 years. During this marriage Stan lived in both California and Bullhead City, AZ and again worked as a carpenter and managed a hotel. They were blessed with 2 great boys, Douglas and Bryan Black. They were divorced in 1990.

His greatest joy was always his family. He loved his children and grandchildren with everything he had. During the last several years he lived in Omaha, Nebraska where he was able to enjoy living with his son, daughter in law and grandson Gavin. After many years as his health declined, he asked to relocate back to his roots, thus bringing him back to the Salina area 2 years ago, It was important to Stan to be close to his cousin Glenn and his brother Roger.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; wife; Robert Black (brother); Elvina Lou (sister).

Stan leaves behind his daughter Cheryl Black, his sons Douglas and Bryan Black, Jennifer Black (daughter in-law), Michelle Black (daughter-in-law), granddaughter Alexandra and grandsons Gavin, Bowen and Bruce and his brothers Charles and Roger Black.

Graveside services will be held Saturday September 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm, at the Salina East side Cemetery followed by a family and friends’ event at the Salina Stake Center.

My dearest friend for 48 years (married 13 yrs) – I will so miss your GOLDEN HEART and the gentle giant you were more than ANYONE knows. I have loved you thru thick and thin for almost my entire life. You were ALWAYS there for our/your children, grandchildren, me and a friend to 1000′s of people who will miss you terribly.

You are out of pain and suffering now, Stan. You have reunited with your Mom, Dad, sister and brother and I’m sure, making them smile and laugh – one of your best qualities.
