LaVern “Vern” Duane Reierson, 84 of Mt. Pleasant, UT, passed away May 15, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born October 30, 1938, to Lawrence & Clara Amanda Nelson Reierson in Holt, MN.
Vern married Judith Green and to this union they had two children, Lance & Laurie, later divorced. He moved out west where he met the love of his life Mary Lynne Otteson where he gained two more children Kenneth and Cassie whom he raised as his own.
Vern was a dedicated, hard-working, determined man and had a no quit attitude all the way to the end. He loved hunting, fishing, and boating he also loved watching sports, especially football.
Vern is survived by his wife, Mary; children Lance Reierson, Laurie Willow, Kenneth (Jessica) Otteson, Cassie (Charlie) Anderson; siblings, Yvonne Reierson, Linda (Rodney) Taggart, Joel Reierson, 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters, Dana Reierson, Breelynne Otteson; sisters Carol and Katherine; sister-in-law Kris Reierson.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 18 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery with a viewing from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to services at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W, Mt. Pleasant).
The family would like to thank IHC Hospice and especially Kiria, Colette, and Dean for their loving care.
I am very saddened to hear about Vern. He was my first brother-in-law. I have many fond memories of him as I was growing up. He was one of the reasons I joined the Navy. I loved his stories.
My deepest condolences to his Wife Mary, Lance and Laura, Kenneth and Kassie and to his sisters and brother.
He was one of the good guys!!
