Allen Peter Jacobson

Allen Peter Jacobson passed away surrounded by his wife and children on Sunday, August 2, 2020.  He was born July 16, 1932 in Fountain Green, Utah to Virgel Peter and Eva Mable Peterson Jacobson.  He married his sweetheart, Verdeen Rhea Bradley on July 18, 1952 in the Manti Utah Temple and together they raised seven children and two foster children. 

Peter was the youngest of four children and grew up at the end of the Great Depression.  He was raised in the family sheep and banking business where he learned the value of hard work, conservation and persistence.   As a young man, he attended Snow College for a year and married Verdeen the following summer.  He moved to Logan, Utah to pursue his education. Shelly Hal Prows

On August 1st, 2020 in Pleasant Grove, UT Shelly Hal Prows, 81, joyfully returned into the loving arms of his wife Brenda, his son Stephen and many other friends and family including his parents Fay and Elva (Nash) Prows. Shelly was born in East Millcreek, Utah. He spent his childhood in Duchesne, UT then moved to Tooele where he graduated high school in 1957. He served an LDS mission in Montana. He enlisted in the National Guard and was called to active duty in 1956 then he served in the Army and was called to active duty in 1961. After separation from the Military he was called on another LDS mission to build a church on the Navajo Reservation where he met his first wife and mother to nine of his children. Danny Lynn Butcher

Danny Lynn Butcher, 62 of Wales, Utah, passed away July 27, 2020 at his home. Born May 9, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marvin Leroy & Elizabeth Collage Butcher. Married Wanda Cracraft Butcher January 20, 1979 in Sandy, Utah.
Danny was an avid fisherman, hunter, loved go camping with his family. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother and friend.
Danny is survived by his wife Wanda; children Cory Butcher, Randy Butcher (Monica Carmona), Shylynn Nordahl (Charlie Wiggins); daughters-in-law, Monique Butcher, Tiffany Butcher; siblings, Dennis Butcher (Tish), Rick Butcher (Lisa), Louann Vasquez (Lynn Wright), Jimmy Butcher (Jen Thurston), Darren Butcher (Teri). Preceded in death by his parents; brother David Butcher.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday August 8, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Wales City Park.

Catherine Zobell

Our dear, beautiful Catherine the Great passed peacefully in her home July 26, 2020, encircled by her family and with a community full of prayers. For 17 years, she fought Parkinson’s disease so valiantly and with the utmost grace. Never a complaint was heard from her and in fact, she often asked to be given more so that others would be spared.
Catherine was born September 4, 1951 to Iowa Grant & Donna Rayola Haslam Hall in American Fork, Utah. She married Lance Wade Zobell September 14, 1984 in Salt Lake City, Utah and sealed November 17, 1985 in the Salt Lake Temple. Read the rest of this entry »

Brent Loyd Homfeld, 60 of Chester, UT, passed away July 25, 2020. Born June 13, 1960 to Gary & Peggy Ferris Cleaver in Amarillo, Texas. Husband of Shannon Smith; father of Amber Nicole Homfeld; brother of Barry (Mary) Homfeld. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Tonya Homfeld and Elizabeth Homfeld. Graveside service will be held Wednesday August 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chester Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.

Clinton DeVerl Buttars

Clinton DeVerl Buttars, 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Moroni, Utah, surrounded by family on July 25, 2020, due to complications of pancreatic cancer.

Clint was born January 27, 1941, in Cache Valley, Utah to Clair and Melba Buttars. He grew up in Granger, Utah where he attended Granger High School. This is where he met his beautiful wife, Marsha.  He served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Toronto Canada Mission where our beloved prophet, Thomas S. Monson, was his mission president. He married the love of his life, Marsha, in the Logan Temple on August 30, 1963. They would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in August. Naomi Timothy Maxfield

Our kind, creative, humorous and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Naomi Maxfield, died peacefully due to the effects of aging on July 21, 2020. She was 83.

Naomi was born in Ballard, Utah on September 17, 1936 to Lynn and Hazel Timothy. She and her eight siblings were raised in Roosevelt. Upon graduation from Uintah High School, Naomi moved to Salt Lake City.

Naomi married Chan L Maxfield on November 9, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together they raised three boys: Larry Chan (Cory), Martin Edward (Janis), Jason Robert (Kristen). Read the rest of this entry »

Melba Fay Shelley Hill was born December 6, 1941, in Mountainville, Utah, to John and Fannie Shelley. Melba was blessed to be raised on the farm with eight brothers. After she graduated from North Sanpete High School, she went to work in Salt Lake City, where she met Donald E Hill. They were married in the Manti Temple on April 13, 1961. They had three children: Shelley, David, & Valerie and also welcomed Leonard Stewart into their family for several years. The family moved from Midvale, Utah, back to Mt. Susan (Sue) Frampton

Susan (Sue) Frampton, 67, passed away July 16, 2020 in Provo, Utah. Sue was born July 24, 1952 in Fillmore, Utah, to Bertis and Beth Frampton. Sue was their first child and brought much joy to her parents and grew up surrounded by cousins and relatives.

During Sue’s teenage years she worked as a life guard at the Fillmore Swimming Pool. She made many friends there while teaching swimming lessons and has always cherished those memories. Sue later went to Weber State College and graduated with her nursing degree in 1975. She worked at Holy Cross Hospital for many years as a surgical nurse. She also worked as a nurse recruiter for Saint Marks Hospital and enjoyed getting paid to travel to many places. Read the rest of this entry »

Elmo Lovell Winward

Elmo Lovell Winward, 78 of Mt. Pleasant, UT, passed away July 13, 2020 at the Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah. Born July 5, 1942 to Peter LeeRoy & Mildred Densley Winward in Salt Lake City, Utah. Elmo graduated from Bingham High School in 1960. He worked with the 4-H and FFA programs until his sons graduated from high school. He participated in rodeos for 13 years riding saddle broncs and bulls. He retired from Utah County as a heavy machine operator after 30 years.
Elmo and JoAnn’s family came together in January of 1978. Elmo and JoAnn were sealed on June 6, 2002 in the Manti LDS Temple. Elmo and JoAnn were Santa’s helpers for 30 years. That gave them much enjoyment. Read the rest of this entry »
