What I love most about my Aunt Patty is that she was so quiet and unassuming. She was tiny and I always wanted be like her, small and petite, with this big, gruff, handsome husband she had wrapped around her finger. She’s small and petite but she’s fierce and I witnessed her put more than a few of these big biker guys in check…I was in AWE! What a woman!! I knew then why Uncle Steve loves her so much! She is the fiercest and most protective of mothers and I pittied the person (male or female) that messed w her girls!! (YIKES). She allowed me to babysit ONCE and I remember I didn’t have to think about a thing! Everything was clearly written from half hour to half hour! Easiest babysitting job I ever had! Lol! She wasn’t a big talker but when she spoke to me it was always a very kind and loving thing she’d say and if she took the time to say something it meant a lot…especially to me. I was grateful to know she was across the street for years, she helped me feel safe in am unstable world. I miss and love her already. She raised the most beautiful girls and loved them unconditionally and fiercely…like a force. Not many people love like she and Uncle Steve do anymore. She’s looking down on her life right now with more pride than she allowed herself while here on earth. She sees clearly now how much she got right and she’s looking forward to being w her family again forever. No more boundaries separated her husband and girls and grand babies anymore. She can be with them all the time now…and THAT will get her through the brief separation. When your grief stops screaming in your ears you’ll be able to feel her close! Love you Uncle Steve, Jaimie, Jill and Julie. PS~I was her favorite Martin Niece… 😬
