      JoAnn,
Our heart goes out to you at this time. We have fond memories of you and Russ from the Racine Ward. My example of a “Man’s Man” has passed to the other side to make a place for you and start his mission teachings others that have gone before him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Somehow I have this picture in my mind of him in heaven sporting a tool belt, welding helmet flipped up, and a missionary tag with ELDER MILNER on it. With a big old grin on his face?

      Love the Blakes

God be with you ‘til we meet again my fellow patriot!

Knowing Russ in the Racine Ward over the past 11 years has been a blessing. He gave encouragement, guidance and brotherly love to all those around him, as well as wise good natured humor. I know that all who knew him will miss him dearly, but he’s certainly waiting and working in a wonderful Heavenly Kingdom for family and friends to join.

I am going to miss you, Russ. And our short veteran talks. I wish I didn’t have to be at Army National Guard drill this week for so long. You were always good to me and our talks were short but pleasant. You were a wonderful man.

JoAnne we miss you as much as Russ but it brings solace that you are both now surrounded with loved ones…I’m so glad raejean and mitch spoke:) at Russ’ s funeral. It represented a lot of the feelings I have for you and Russ. He served with gusto and always had a large heart for all those around him. Most of all he was a true disciple of Jesus Christ that we may all look up to.

We love you. Mhiay God’s blessings and comfort be upon you and you family

  8. Though our meeting was for a very short period of time and through virtual only during our Saturday family gospel study, I had came to know Dad Russ and had liked and loved him. He was such a good man and his testimony of the gospel is very remarkable… he has been an inspiration to me and even to my children who had came to love him also and considered him their grandpa. He will greatly be missed!
