Glenn Kimball Mower

Glenn Kimball Mower 72 of Fairview, UT passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home early Tuesday morning January 10, 2018 after a valiant year long battle with cancer. Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many. He will be remembered for his generous nature, contagious laugh, strong spirit and kind heart. Born November 26, 1945 at his family home in Fairview, UT to Grant Kimball & Altha Marie Mower. Glenn grew up on his family farm with his four sisters. He attended all the local schools and was active in the LDS Church. In high school he played baseball, was in the choir and played the drums and the accordion in the band. He was also a member of a band, “The Sundowners” with some of his friends. After high school he attended Snow College and was a member of the US Jaycee’s. In 1965 his parents passed away in a car accident and he took over running the family farm and dairy. He also worked many jobs throughout his life. He was the Fairview City Marshall. He worked on the Electric Lake Dam and with Gibbons & Reed Construction. He was a sales rep for Road Runner trailers and night supervisor at Sperry Univac. Later he moved to Salt Lake City and took employment with Safelight Manufacturing, then was transferred to Rocky Mount, NC for 3 years. He then moved home and worked for Christiansen Glass and Paint until he retired. Glenn married Marian Frandsen on July 1, 1967 in Mount Pleasant, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple April 8, 1977. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending sporting events, camping, fishing, gardening and cutting firewood. He loved doing family history and going to the temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as a gospel doctrine teacher, stake missionary and was a faithful home teacher. He served in many bishoprics as a counselor, clerk & executive secretary. His callings were very important to him. He fulfilled them right up to the end. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marian Frandsen Mower; daughters, Tricia Mower (Dennis)Christiansen, Mt. Pleasant, UT; Renee (Paul) Madsen, Mt. Pleasant, UT; sons, Glen (Pauline) Terry, Fairview, UT; Brent (Jackie) Terry, Fairview, UT; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laurel (David) Click of Camphill, PA; Lynnette (Richard) Scott, Salt Lake City, UT. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lois Mower Scott and Louise Mower Hammond and grandson, Tyson Robert Terry. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fairview 4th Ward Chapel (122 S State). Viewings, Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant, UT and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church in Fairview. Interment in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.
