Jess Baker

Jess Wayne Baker, age 76, beloved dad, grandpa, husband and friend passed away peacefully on December 15, 2018 in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He was born on November 5, 1942 to Jess (William) and Emily (Pieper) Baker. He is survived by his kids, his grandkids, his wife Anne Hackett and many friends and loved ones that he took into his home or under his wing throughout the years.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and worked at the Kennecott Copper Mine for 40 years. He spent his retirement at Skyline Mountain Resort golfing, fishing and spending time with friends and loved ones. Jess was an avid hunter and sportsman. He loved the outdoors, antiques and old cars. And he really loved Dr. Pepper.
He was also a skilled artisan who for many years handmade custom knives. His work is prized by collectors all over the nation. He had a terrific sense of humor and was always ready with a joke or a funny turn of phrase. A celebration of Jess’s life will be held Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Pavilion/Club House at Skyline Mountain Resort (22130 N 11750 E, Fairview, UT 84629. There will be food and drink as well as swimming for those interested.
