Alice “Jeanne” Starley Born July 12, 1947, in Paducah, Kentucky to James Thomas and Betty Jeanne Miller.
Died September 27, 2024, at the age of 77 surrounded by her family at the St. George Regional Medical Center.
She was married to Wayne E. Starley on September 24, 1971, in Kokomo, Indiana.
Jeanne grew up in Metropolis, Illinois close to her grandparents which she adored. She spent most of her days with her grandmother. Her family moved to Anderson, Indiana around the time that she turned 8 years old. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1965. After graduation she started working for Indiana Bell Telephone Company as an operator in Kokomo, Indiana. In the summer of 1971, she met her Husband of 53 years Wayne E. Starley they were married on September 24, 1971, in Kokomo, Indiana. They lived in Kokomo until 1982 then made the move to Fillmore, Utah where her husband was from. She has many and wonderful special talents crocheting, making homemade candy every Christmas, were just a couple of them that she still enjoyed doing even despite the RA that crippled her hands. She always made sure all the new babies of our family had a new Afghan. She enjoyed having her crafts in the local craft bazars most of the time the money she made helped many people and charities and never wanted anyone to know or any praise for her good doings. Jeanne was a Girl Scout leader Brownie Group for both of her daughters. She was an Avon Representative for many years. She received the Avon Presidents Club Award every year.
Jeanne has Four children; Regina Gorrell (Jamie), Steve Miller, Alyssa Prows, Thomas Starley; 7 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers; Mike Miller, Patrick (Jo) Miller; 2 Sisters; Donna (Allan) Bodey, Anita Miller; and many Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Mike Miller; a son; Thomas Starley; 2 grandsons; Taylor Christensen and James Christensen
Graveside service a @ 12:00 pm with a viewing/visitation @ 11:00 am at the Fillmore City Cemetery on Saturday October 12, 2024.
Special thanks to the Cedar City Hospital ER Staff, the Life Flight Staff and all the Doctors and Nurses from the St. George Regional Hospital that helped with the care of our mom. We appreciate the kindness and compassion that we were shown while we went through this tragic experience. Thank you to everyone that has reached out to us in one way or another with condolences.
