Allyssa JaLeigh Rasmussen

January 19, 2013 — March 14, 2025

Ephraim

Our sweet daughter, sister and granddaughter, Ally, passed away suddenly at the age of 12 on Friday, March 14, 2025, from a spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage. She was born on January 19, 2013 in Richfield, UT to Josh and Mollie Rasmussen of Ephraim, UT. Ally was the youngest of five children with four older brothers—much to her dismay and delight.

Ally J was the first in the family to wear pink and bows. Her spunk and sass were perfectly balanced by her loving heart, beaming smile, and tight squeezes. She had a natural gift for making friends and brought joy to everyone around her. Ally could talk to anyone and firmly believed she was everyone’s best friend. She gave the best hugs and had a special love for babies and children, always thrilled when she had the chance to babysit.

Ally loved all the girly things: doing hair, nails, shopping for clothes (she had a flair for fashion), and hanging out with her friends. She had her first crush at three years old. Ally loved all animals and wanted to be a dog groomer when she grew up.

As a little girl, Ally loved dancing and made sure her daddy knew that dancers deserved flowers after their recitals. She later found her passion in sports, playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball. As she grew, she played club basketball and, most of all, her first love—volleyball. She was thrilled to receive her new pink and blue volleyball jersey with her name and the number 10, the same number her mom wore in college, and was especially excited to wear it at her first club volleyball game.

California beach vacations every summer were her favorite. Relentlessly teased by brothers who love her, Ally learned quickly to hold her own. She had just the right amount of spice. She was looking forward to showing her brother Talon how tall she had grown since he left on his mission.

Music was a big part of Ally’s life. She often sang Primary songs while her mom played the piano and learned to play the piano herself, along with the clarinet and percussion. She was a favorite student in her dad’s band classes and recently had the opportunity to perform at the state band festival with both her dad and her brother Bode. Ally loved her teachers, and always worked hard to succeed in school.

Ally was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on February 6, 2021 by her oldest brother Talon. She had strong faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and shared her testimony freely. After turning 12 in January, Ally was finally able to attend the Manti Temple and do proxy baptisms for the dead for the first time where her brother Coby was able to baptize her. She loved being in Young Women’s at Church and was looking forward to her very first girls camp experience.

There are so many things we could say about Ally, but one thing is certain—she changed our lives for the better, and we will never be the same without her. Our hearts are broken, but we are profoundly grateful for our knowledge of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. We find peace in knowing we will be with our Ally again—we are a forever family.

Ally will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her parents, Josh and Allyssa “Mollie”; her big brothers, Talon, Kaleb, Coby, and Bode; her grandparents, Lewis & Alta Lynne Rasmussen (Fountain Green, UT) and Todd & Kathie Dixon (Vancouver, WA); as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless special friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim Stake Center (400 East Center St). Viewings Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, March 21, 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. prior to services, both at the church. Interment in the Ephraim Park Cemetery.
