Betty June (Sorensen) Andersen was born March 17, 1944, and passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by her husband Chet and two sons Rick and Grant. Betty was born in Murray, Utah to Duane and June Sorensen. She was the oldest of seven children.    

She graduated high school at Granite High School in Salt Lake County in 1962.  

She was adventurous and loved the great outdoors. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and riding her four-wheeler. She loved gardening and canning and doing crafts like knitting, crocheting afghans, and needlework. She also loved spending time with her family. She was hardworking and was someone everyone could count on.

Betty married Chet Andersen on March 18, 1972, and after retiring they moved from Sandy, Utah to Fairview, Utah. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for several companies over the years.

Betty is preceded by death by her parents, June and Duane; siblings, Murley, Jerry, Debbie, and Greg.

She is survived by her husband, Chet; sons, Rick Winger, Salt Lake City, Utah; Grant Winger, Fairview, Utah; stepsons, Steve Andersen (Barb) from Lubbock, Texas; Rob Andersen (Heather) from Yukon, Oklahoma; stepdaughter Missy (Matt) Fortuna and eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren & two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Judy Wright of Mt. Pleasant; Pinky Shears; brother-in-law, Bud Shears of Mt. Pleasant; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service at Fairview Upper Cemetery in Fairview, Utah  Tuesday, October 17th 2023 at 11:00 am.
