Bonnie A. Olson

February 1, 1936 — April 16, 2022

2/1/1936 ~ 4/16/2022

Bonnie Marlene Anderson Olson, age 86 of Ephraim, Utah passed away on April 16, 2022, in her home surrounded by her children.

She was the seventh of eight children born to Merrill J. and Anna Kirstine Anderson on February 1, 1936, in Ephraim, Utah.  She married Douglas H. Olson on January 27,1954 in the Manti, Utah Temple.

Bonnie enjoyed her participation in the local PTA when her children were young.  Music touched her soul and she loved singing in her Ward Choir, The Singing Mothers, the annual Stake Messiah presentations and singing with the fun duets, quartets and double quartets comprised of her close and cherished friends.

Bonnie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had the opportunity to serve in many Stake and Ward Relief Societies, Young Women’s, and Primary Organizations. She made no secret that the most enjoyable calling she had, over her lifetime, was serving as a Sunbeam teacher in Primary.

Together with her husband, Douglas, they served a Mission at the Ephraim Latter-day Saint Institute of Religion.  They also served as Ordinance Workers in the Manti Latter-day Saint Temple for ten years with many who became their treasured friends.

Bonnie will be remembered for her complete and unselfish care and concern for others and her quick sense of humor.  Her needle point and embroidery projects are a work of art and Bonnie was a world class family party planner.  She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and found great joy in service with a smile.  Bonnie was a faithful and humble Disciple of Jesus Christ and her influence in the lives of her family, will long be remembered.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Jeffery D.  (Sharon) Olson, Julie (Val) Hawks, Don R. (Denise) Olson, and Carolyn (Tom) Osmond, twenty-one grandchildren and sixty great-grandchildren.   She is survived by her sister Faye Armstrong and one brother Tom (Martha) Anderson.  She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday April 22, 2022, at 11am in the Ephraim, Latter-day Saint Stake Center; 400 E Center.  A viewing will be held at the Stake Center Thursday evening, April 21, 2022, from 6-8pm and Friday morning from  9-10:30am.  Internment in the Ephraim City Cemetery.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Dr Dallin Olson (one of her favorite Sunbeams), Dr Siddhartha Kakani, Dr Brandt Esplin, the tender Hospice Care Team and Ramussen Mortuary.  Also, for the kind and loving care of extended family members, the Ephraim Seventh Ward Relief Society, and many friends.
