Chester Nimrod Andersen

Chester Nimrod Andersen, 84 of Fairview, Utah passed away peacefully at home early Monday morning March 10, 2025, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Chet was born on March 17, 1940, in Sandy, Utah to Emil and Rachel Andersen.  He grew up in Sandy with his five siblings on their family farm and graduated from Jordan High School.  

Chet and Betty were married on March 18, 1972.  He spent his long career as a local truck driver, retiring from Savage Trucking.  In 1995 he and Betty moved from Sandy to Fairview, Utah and started a labor of love remodeling their 100 plus year-old adobe style home that started with dirt floors.  Other favorite pastimes for Chet was being outdoors camping, hunting with family and friends or with a fishing pole in hand.  He also loved gardening, paying close attention to his tomatoes, peppers, and onions so that Betty could make her famous salsa.  In the fall on the weekends, you could always find him cheering on his favorite team, the Denver Broncos.  

Chet worked hard throughout his life, and he loved the time he spent with people and animals. You could usually find him visiting with his neighbors and local community throughout the day, cruising downtown in his side-by-side.

Chester is survived by his loving children: Steven (Barbara) Andersen, Robert (Heather) Andersen, Missy (Matthew) Fortuna; stepsons Rick Winger and Grant Winger; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren along with extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his young son Jeffrey Lynn, and his wife Betty of 51 years.  He is also preceded by his parents, his sister Rose, and brothers Peter, Emron, Glen, and Dan.
