Clifford “Jimmy” James Merriman, 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his own home in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He passed away late at night in the embrace of his loving and remembering family, his last few days were full of activity and bonding with everyone around him. He was born in 1951 in Richmond, California, and grew up in Detroit, Michigan, also living in Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jacksonville, Florida.
Clifford’s talents were many, he always had a way with words and making people laugh through jokes because he loved to tell jokes. He always had the most interesting stories for his family and friends. He was also very gifted when it came to cars as well, working on one just to work on one, and he was always known for having a tool in hand and being a hefty man.
He is survived by his wife whom he loved very dearly, Rhonda Lynn Merriman, 65, he met her in Nephi and from there blossomed their marriage of 37 years. He is survived by his 3 children; Christopher James Larsen, 44 (Mandi Larsen) of Craig, Colorado, Geoffrey Paul Larsen, 40, of Mount Pleasant, Utah, and Amelia Ann Merriman, 34 (Zachary Shumway) of Mount Pleasant, Utah. He is survived by his 5 grandchildren, Kamie Riley Larsen, 21, of Craig, Colorado, Brandy Nicole Larsen, 18 (Wyatt Shroyer) of Craig, Colorado, Dallan James Larsen, 16, of Craig, Colorado, Kaison Gage Shumway, 3, of Mount Pleasant, Utah, and Jae-Lynn Amelia Bagley, 15, of Mount Pleasant, Utah.
He has two sisters in which he is survived by; Linda Strickland of Henrietta, Texas, and Donna Sue Merriman of Wichita Falls, Texas. In death, he is preceded by his mother, (Annie Lou Flowers), 2 brothers, (Kenny Merriman and Guy Merriman), grandson, (Gage Clifford Shumway), his 3 brothers in law, (Bruce Strickland, Charles Dee Terkelson, and Wilford Junior Terkelson), and his mother and father in law, (Wilma Amelia Terkelson and Wilford James Jackson Terkelson).
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 in the Mt. Pleasant 5th Ward Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing from 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.
