Dennis C Davis

December 25, 1946 — September 28, 2024

Moroni

Dennis C. Davis, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Christmas Day of 1946 was a day the world received one of its most priceless gifts. Marion and Orda Davis gave birth to their son Dennis. It has never been confirmed whether he was Dennis Christopher, Dennis Christmas, or Dennis C. Davis but the one thing that was for certain, he was a gift to all he met. Dennis was born and raised in Delta, Utah where he thrived living in a small town surrounded by family and friends. People mattered to Dennis, and all who met him ended up feeling like he was their best friend.

Dennis was the middle child with an older sister (Karolyn), brother (Roger), and younger sisters (Tammy and Cindy). The family lost a sweet brother, Ronald, who we have not doubt the brothers are having a tender reunion and enjoying catching up. He loved his family fiercely. At eight years old he saved his baby sister, Tammy, from a fire. This one incident showed the type of man Dennis would grow into. A man who loved with his whole heart and would do anything to protect them. He protected anyone in any situation.

Dennis was a die hard sports fan. It didn’t matter what sport it was, you could always find Dennis either watching or participating in sports. BYU was his team and as many times as he wanted to “throw in the towel”, he was loyal to the end.

Dennis loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and served an LDS mission to Melbourne, Australia. He has always loved the Australian people. Dennis met his sweetheart and truest love on December 13, 1968. After a whirlwind courtship they married February 14, 1969. Dad and Mom shared a love like no other. Their love was deep and emulated the true love of Christ in how they cherished each other. They welcomed five children to their family, Christine Lynn, Catherine Lynn, Jennifer Lynn, Robert Dennis, and Richard Dennis. Sweet Cathy passed away four months before Jennie was born. We are certain Dad was so excited to see his baby girl again.

One of Dad’s favorite things was to play the guitar and have his children dance and twirl around his legs. Dad and Mom made birthdays, holidays, and special days magical. We knew he loved us.

Dad always made sure we knew three things: 1) He loved Mom with all his heart, body, and soul. She was his queen and we were to treat her as such. 2) He loved us no matter what. We were the most important people in his life and we were to never ever forget that. 3) He loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and knew that He WILL come again.

We learned how to serve by watching Dad. He would slip money into single mothers’ pockets, and deliver cases of food anonymously all the time thinking we weren’t watching. Dad loved and cared for people and would do anything to ease their burdens.

Dad is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Orda Davis, brothers, Roger, Ronald, sisters Karolyn, Tammy, and daughter Catherine. He is survived by his sweetheart Linda, daughters Christine (David) Green, Jennifer (Wesley) Heap, sons Robert (Jenny) Davis, Richard (Stephanie) Davis, twelve grandsons, three granddaughters, and one great-grandson.

The family would like to thank the love, support, and kindness of the sweet hospice nurse Dawn, many friends, neighbors, and family. We love and appreciate all you have done for our family.
