Donald Stanley Fuller

March 8, 1946 — December 26, 2024

Donald Stanley Fuller, 78 of Fillmore, Utah, passed away December 26, 2024 in Provo, Utah.

Don was born in St. George on March 8th, 1946 to Reed & Helen Susana Pope Fuller. He was the youngest of five children. The family moved to a 20-acre peach orchard in Cottonwood after selling the family ranch in Pine Valley. He started his schooling at Cottonwood elementary. The family soon moved to a large ranch his dad bought in Flowell. After a few years there, the Artesian wells began to fail and they worked hard to keep it going, even trading for other farm land. He spent his school years from then on between Flowell and Granger, where the family had a home. He left high school after his junior year to attend Salt Lake Technical College. He graduated at 18 with a degree in diesel mechanics. The tote goat his dad bought him to use on the farm began a lifelong love of motorcycles. His early career included years as a diesel mechanic and years at motorcycle shops. He moved back to Fillmore in 1973 with a wife and three children in tow. There they established a diesel repair and road service business, later adding a Yamaha dealership, as well as adding three more children to the family. He spent the next 25 years raising kids and working hard! He later sold the dealership and took a job in Temecula, California. joined by his wife who found work as a high school teacher, and several of the now nearly adult kids.

During his years in Fillmore, Don and wife, Ellie, founded the Chamber of Commerce and established a motorcycle club, The Sugarloafers. He was happy and productive placing many, many motorcycles in the community.

Don had built and drag raced cars as a young man, but turned to motorcycle racing and snowmobile racing, earning major industry support and introducing many community members to the sport. He raced with international cyclists and enjoyed years of winning, sponsoring, and representing a sport he loved. His sons and daughters all learned to ride, and his sons chose to race and had their opportunity to be winners also. He had a good, long life.

Don is survived by his wife, Eleanor Fuller; children Lynn (Bryan) Stevens; Christine (Phil) Burgess, Rob (Amie) Fuller, Chad (Melissa) Fuller, Aimee Fuller; 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Donovan Reed Fuller.

He was dearly loved and respected by many and will be missed by all. A celebration of life will be held Saturday. January 18th from 1:00-3:00 pm upstairs in the Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum  . Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
