Dora Maria Granillo De Nielson, 68 of Ephraim, Utah, passed away on April 15, 2023, in the Gunnison Valley Hospital. Born November 19, 1954 to Doreteo & Tridad Pando Granillo in Chihuahua Mexico. She met the love of her life Jeffery Nielson in 1976 and it was love at first sight. They were married on May 17, 1977, in Seattle, WA. They moved to Ephraim, UT, where they raised their two children.
Dora had a lifetime passion for helping and teaching children. She was a teacher and taught all ages in the North Sanpete School District. Dora had an unconditional love for her husband, kids, grandkids, and her Heavenly Father.
She is survived by her husband Jeff Nielson; children, Donny (Brooke) Nielson, Pleasant Grove, UT; Christina (Chip) Petersen, Ephraim, UT; siblings, Rosa, Adrian, Manena, Chela, Manuela, Mario; grandkids, Kyson Foot, Tyler Nielson, Jacob Nielson, Paizlee Petersen. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings Octavio, Chawa, and Lupe; granddaughter Bentley Ray Petersen.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Saint Jude Catholic Church (160 E Center, Ephraim). A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W, Mt. Pleasant, UT). Interment in the Ephraim Park Cemetery.
