Dustan “Brennan” Starley

Dustan “Brennan” Starley was born April 28, 2001 and passed away June 21, 2019. He was born in Beaver, UT and lived his first year of life in Enoch, UT. At the age of one Brennan and his family moved to his father’s hometown of Meadow, UT.
From an early age Brennan had a love of learning. He had a quick mind and enjoyed working through and finding solutions to complex problems. He loved designing and engineering; when he was young, he would draw house plans for fun and build bridges and dams. Even on our last family vacation, to Florida, he spent hours in the sand digging holes and building dams and waterways.
Brennan was shy and quiet by nature, but gradually overcame some of that when he started working for Rex at the Meadow Tire and Shell. There he learned many valuable skills that included hard work, changing tires and oil and interacting with customers. He liked his work and took pride in doing a good job.
When he started high school, Brennan joined the Millard High FFA Chapter. There he served in various leadership positions as chaplain and vice-president. He also went on numerous trips with the FFA, the most memorable being the trip he took with his father to Washington D.C. During the same time he graduated from Millard High School in May of 2019, he earned his Pathways Certificate in Agricultural Mechanics Systems.
Brennan also had a great love for being in the outdoors riding horses, hiking, and biking. He loved to camp and hang out around the campfire telling stories or just enjoying the evening. And even though he didn’t get to go as often as he would have liked, he loved to fish and hunt.
If a person’s attributes could be summed up in one word, Brennan’s word would be kindness. Brennan was the epitome of kindness. It was ingrained in his soul. It truly was the very essence of who he was. He gave so much of himself to others, helping them, making them smile, serving them, making sure that they were happy or having a good time, sometimes at the expense of his own happiness. Brennan wanted others around him to be happy and often struggled if he felt that he had somehow displeased them or made them unhappy. He was a friend to everyone, young or old and showed kindness to all those he met. Because of this Brennan held a special place in all his siblings’ and cousins’ hearts. He will always be remembered for his thoughtfulness, gentle nature, and sweet spirit.
Brennan is survived by his parents, Dustan and Alishia Starley, his older brother Garrett (Jaime) Starley and their daughters Mia and Audrey, Flowell, UT, his three younger sisters, Natalie, Lindsay, and Paisley Starley, Meadow, UT. He is survived by his grandparents, John and Sharla Starley, Meadow, UT and Keith and Janet Anderson, Beaver, UT, his Great Grandmother Iris Bond, Meadow, UT; Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29 at 12:00 pm at the Meadow Ward LDS Church located at 108 E Center, Meadow, UT. A viewing will be held at the same location Friday June 28 from 6-8 pm and Saturday June 29 from 9:30-11:30 am. Interment in the Meadow Cemetery.
