Earl William Sorensen, 88 of Chester, Utah. Born November 30, 1933, passed away March 9, 2022. Earl was born on a cold day just before noon in Spring City at the family home. He grew up with 4 brothers and 3 sisters. As a young man he grew up milking cows by hand, herding sheep and cutting wood for the wood burning stove in the home. As soon as Earl was old enough to pack a gun, he went hunting with his Stevens 30-30 rifle which was given to him by his brother Perry.
Earl enjoyed school and excelled in wood shop. He met the love of his life Francis Joan Allred and they were married for time and eternity on July 17, 1953 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Manti Temple. Earl and Frances were blessed with 5 children; Aaron, Blake, Julie, Robert, and Richard. 
Earl started his working career at Kennecott Copper Mine, then they moved back to the Sanpete Valley and began milking cows, taking care of a flock of turkeys, and other farm work. In 1967 Earl bought his own dairy farm. He milked cows for 45 years, then sold the cows and went to work tending turkeys. Later he became a custodian for a time at Moroni Elementary School.
Earl was bishop of the Chester Ward for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Among his other callings he was a bishops counselor and temple worker in the Manti Temple.
Earl is survived by his wife Frances and five children; Aaron (Deborah); Blake (Miriam); Julie (David); Robert (Jeannie); Richard; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren; siblings: David (Kim) Sorensen; Glenn (Pat) Sorensen; Myrle (Ralph) Smith; Mary Wilkens; Linda (Fred) Stone; and Wesley (Jan) Sorensen.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leonard (Donna Sorensen, brother-in-law Ray Wilkens and granddaughter Sharlee Sorensen.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanpitch Ward Chapel in Wales, UT with viewings Thursday evening March 17 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the church. Online condolence at rasmussenmortuary.com
