Fredrick Loren Taylor

December 4, 1944 — March 12, 2022

12/4/1944 ~ 3/12/2022

Fredrick Loren Taylor passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was born on December 4, 1944. He was the third of ten children born to Hal and Anna Fredrickson Taylor. As a child he was always outdoors riding horses and playing cowboys with his brothers. As a young man he loved playing basketball and football with his friends. He graduated from Springville High School, where he was elected as the student body vice president. After high school he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in England. After his mission he enlisted in the Army to support his country in the Vietnam war, where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He then completed his education at BYU, receiving a degree in political science.

He married the love of his life Katherine Gagon Taylor in the Salt Lake Temple on September 13, 1968. They are the proud parents of four boys and two girls. They raised their family in Payson and Fillmore, Utah. In 1983 he moved to Fillmore when he was transferred with his job as a Probation and Parole officer. He enjoyed spending time with his family hiking, exploring the outdoors, and especially hunting with his sons. Adventures to Zion National Park and various ghost towns were always a highlight as well. He served faithfully in many callings in the church, and he always loved the opportunity to serve others through ministering as a home teacher. His time working in the temple and as a service missionary were a joy in his later years.

He will always be remembered for his kindness, love of the Lord and love of his family. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Katherine Gagon Taylor and his children; Loren (Marie), Cynthia (Craig) Empey, Nathan, Christine, Brian (Tenneal), his step-mother Cathy Taylor and his siblings Lorraine (Glen) Vernon, Steven (Diane), Donavon (Patricia), David (Tamara), Barbara (Clark) Roberts, Pat (Jim) Rawle, and Sandy (Bob) Rawle. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whom brought him his greatest joy in life.

He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Hal Taylor, parents Hal and Anna Taylor, brother Richard and sister Susan
