Karen Louise Brady Bench, 71 of West Jordan, UT, passed away January 24, 2019 surrounded by her family in Murray, UT. Born May 4, 1947 to Jack and Elna Brady in SLC, UT. Married Douglas C. Bench Sept. 28, 1963.
Karen loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with them on any occasions possible, traveling, camping and especially the holidays. She loved making crafts, crocheting, knitting, clothing and Halloween costumes with her sister Merrilyn. She loved spending time in the outdoors and taking 4-wheeler trips with her husband Douglas. Karen retired from Hercules then worked part-time for her family at Leisure Pool and Spa. She loved helping others and served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Karen is survived by her mother Elna; children, Kristine (Omer) Bangerter; M. Yates Bench; Todd W Bench; siblings, EllaRae (Tom) Edwards; JoAnn Schuldies; Merrilyn (Lynn) Kirkman; John (Kim) Brady; 13 grandchildren, 7.75 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her father Jack; husband, Douglas; sons, Jim A. Bench, Douglas U. Bench.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the River 1st Ward Church at 7150 South Callie Drive, West Jordan. Viewings will be held Tuesday January 29, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to service both held at the Church.
