Karl Jay Milne

February 14, 1937 — March 8, 2025

Karl Jay Milne, aged 88, of Sun City West, AZ, peacefully passed away at his home on March 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 14, 1937, to Lucille and Jake Milne in Myton, Utah, Karl served in the United States Marines as a Private First Class, beginning his service in 1953. During his deployment in Hawaii, he contributed to the development of Waikiki’s beautiful beaches.

In 1961, Karl met Maxine (Ainscough) in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they had five children: Brenda, Kevin, Kerrie, Karleen and Kamille. They resided in South Jordan, Utah during their children’s formative years and later retired to Mount Pleasant, Utah. Karl called it his happy place! Karl cherished tending to his yard and garden, snow plowing his and his neighbors’ yards and spending quality time with his family and grandchildren during summer visits. Eventually, he spent his final days basking in the sunshine and tending to his roses in Sun City West, Arizona.

Karl had a deep love for the outdoors, including gardening, farming, hunting and participating in various equestrian activities such as horse racing, chariots, clubs, and pleasure riding. He enjoyed being active, riding his ranger, and socializing with friends and family. His family was always his top priority, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them the best he could. Karl dedicated nearly 50 years to his work with Breitling Brothers and Harper Construction as an excavator.

Karl is preceded in the death of his parents Lucille Wilson, Jake, his sister, Evelyn Butler; nephew Don Eddy Butler, son-in-law John, and his beloved grandson Tyler; aunts, uncles, inlaws, stepfathers and others to whom he loved greatly.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; children, Brenda, Kevin, Kerrie. Karleen (Rocky) and Kami (Tres); along with his legacy of nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ed (Linda) Zirker & Pamela Zirker of Moses Lake, WA.

A service to celebrate Karl’s life will be held at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mount Pleasant, Utah, on Monday March 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
