Karren Ruth Ackemyer-Aubrey passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Fountain Green, Utah. She was born September 13, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Glen Charles Shaw and Gladys Lucille Stephenson. Karren met and married the love of her life, Thomas Ackemyer-Aubrey in the Mt Timpanogos Temple. Their life together was one of great love, tenderness, and respect. They enjoyed traveling to many places together.
Thomas and Karren came to Fountain Green, Utah thirteen years ago, moving from the fast pace of city life to the quiet country life which fit them perfectly. They made many friends and loved the Sanpete Valley.
Karren was a unique and intelligent person. She was always willing to lend a hand and reach out to others. She was selfless–always putting other’s needs ahead of her own. She had a fun and delightful sense of humor. Her laugh was infectious and she was so easy to be around. She loved to play games and was an avid competitor.
Karren was blessed with many talents that she used to bless the lives of others. She was an extraordinary seamstress and made clothes, costumes, blankets, and many other items. She was also known for her cross-stitching, knitting, and cooking.
She had a vivid memory of many events in her life. She often talked of the great love she had for her parents and how she respected and treasured their words of wisdom; often leaning on them for instruction and lessons in life.
Karren’s life was not an easy one. She experienced great sorrows with the early passing of her son, Jeffrey, and the passing of her great love Thomas. Through these heartbreaking trials, she never gave up or felt sorry for herself. She would pick herself up and go forward. She was a great example of “enduring to the end.”
Karren loved to serve others. She was an ordinance worker at the Manti Temple. A duty she loved and gained much from. She was deeply religious and had a great love and testimony of her Savior. She is one who could be classified as “true blue through and through.” She was always willing to stand for what was right and what she believed in. We will miss her but carry her memory in our hearts. She will not be forgotten.
Karren is survived by her two brothers: Glen (Pon) Shaw and David Shaw both of Orem, Utah, grandchildren of West Valley, Utah and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Jeff, and her three sisters Bernadine, Marilyn, and Suzanne and two brothers Robert Shaw and Brent Shaw,
