8/4/1943 ~ 7/29/2021
On July 29, 2021, we lost our beautiful mother Kate Ingegard Lindskog Hare.
Mom was born on August 4, 1943 in Ostersund, Sweden. One of her greatest accomplishments was gaining her citizenship of the United States of America on November 21st, 1969. We loved her story of how she flew by herself to the US when she was 16 years old.
Mom was married to Blaine Hare on August 26th, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage, love, friendship and adventure this year. Mom and Dad got married after a whirlwind romance that started in Stanley, Idaho. One of our favorite memories as a family is when they took us girls back to their meeting spot. We heard the story that Dad knew she was the one he wanted to marry before she had even finished crossing the road.
She had many joys! Her passion was for nature – her flowers, hummingbirds and animals. Her joy of gardening is evident in their beautiful home and yard. She created warmth and love through the many knitted scarves, dishcloths, beautiful sweaters and blankets that she gifted to friends and family. She loved sharing her knowledge and watching people grow in their skills of the things she loved. Mom’s enthusiasm for reading was evident with her large collection of books. Her nightstand didn’t look complete unless she had 4 or 5 books ready to be read. She also loved taking walks, stopping to talk to friends and pet the animals.
We couldn’t talk about our Mom without mentioning the best job she had. Mom loved working at Millard High School. She had so much pleasure working with the kids and staff at the school.
She extended her loving home through her homemade Christmas gifts. For many friends, the season will be a little less sweet without her lemon loaves tied with yarn and homemade strawberry jam. The season was often a testament to her heritage as her home was trimmed with many Swedish decorations. She loved sharing her heritage with her grandchildren through recipes and traditions. Her sweet and beautiful accent warmed the hearts of many and will continue to bring smiles to our hearts as we remember her pronunciation of special words.
Mom’s family included her three daughters, Teresa Gardner, Blanche Smith, and Michelle Stansfield. She had 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Her family also included her bonus sons Jeff Williamson, wife Dixie and Mark Williamson-deceased (Linda) and their wonderful family members. Her loving sisters, Aunt Silva Bramblett (John-deceased) and Aunt Else Pearson (Cecil) and Aunt Eva Mae (deceased) rounded out her immediate family.
We would like to thank everyone and especially her cherished friends who touched our mother’s life during her journey. We appreciate all the lessons she taught us about strength under fire. She cherished her friends and She always had a smile for everyone.
There will be a celebration of life for our Mom at the 1st/4th Ward building from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 7th, 2021. Please stop by and share stories.
