Kenneth Joel Allred

August 23, 1944 — December 3, 2024

Mount Pleasant

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that Kenneth Joel Allred passed away from cancer on December 3, 2024. Ken passed peacefully at home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, surrounded by his loving wife of 62 years, Dixie, and five of his six children.

Ken was the second child born to Arvel and Elva Allred, on August 23, 1944. Ken’s life revolved around his beautiful children and grandchildren. He didn’t want for anything else in life but to be surrounded by them. With each new grandchild and great grandchild, his heart swelled with so much love for each one.

Ken married his sweetheart when they were very young; he was 18-years old and she was 16. They spent 62 years building a wonderful life together with their children doing the things they loved the most.

Ken loved camping, fishing, hunting, and riding in the mountains with his family. As his children got older, he took his wife out dancing and they sang many songs together with him playing his guitar. Together, they spent 16 winters searching for gold in Arizona.

Ken was a hard worker. He was taught at a young age that nothing was handed to you on a silver platter. He ran his own companies for over 50 years, teaching his children how to run and work on heavy equipment. He taught his children the same valuable lessons of working hard, always with integrity, and to apply their best effort in everything they do. His wife was so proud of how he taught them to love, respect and show compassion for others. Ken was truly a wonderful husband and father.

Ken is survived by his wife, Maria Dilia Gonzales Allred; his children Wes, Kurt (Tracy), Stephanie (Richard) Anderson, Justin (Alesha), and Joe (Aubrey); daughter-in-law Dianna Allred; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; his sisters Peggy Strate, Ann Hunger and Ellen Allred; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arvel and Elva Allred; son Mark Allred; daughter-in-law Teri Chaudoin Allred; brother Roger Allred; In-Laws Ernest and Ernestine Gonzales; brothers-in-law Jerry Gonzales, Jimmy Gonzales and Ricky Gonzales.

It was Ken’s wish to forego funeral services. His children are planning a Celebration of Life at a later date, surrounded by his family at their home and at their favorite place in the mountains.
