Kirt Rex Kellett died November 17, 2019 at his home in Warr Acres, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family. Since moving to Oklahoma 4 years ago, Kirt has been storm chasing tornadoes from his living room. We hope he will be remembered for his fun sense of humor and his love for his family. He likes to make people smile.
Born October 12,1943 to Grant Rexford and Lillis Jensen Kellett. He was the first son and third child to a family of eleven children. Kirt served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Alaskan/ Canadian Mission from 1963 to 1964. Married Shirley Paystrup on May 1, 1970.
Kirt raised turkeys and worked at Moroni Processing Plant for more than 40 years. He loved to hunt pheasants and deer. A successful deer hunt was when his shots missed the target. He enjoyed the friendships and the food. He enjoyed golfing with friends and spending time with his family.
Survived by his wife Shirley; children, Todd Kellett (Ginger), Kim Allsup (Blayne), Ryan Kellett, Amanda Montes (Enrique); grandchildren, Taylor (Ashley) Allsup, Chase Allsup, currently serving a mission in the Marshall Islands/Kiribati mission, Aubrey Allsup, Kalab Allsup, Kylee (Chase) Hill, Kuper Kellett, Manderly Kellett, Chloe Montes, Brenon Montes, and Isaac Montes; siblings, Beryl (Frank) Cook, John (Sue) Kellett, Neal (Laraine) Kellett, Nora (Glen) Olson, Bob (Colleen) Kellett, Connie (Kent) Young, Bart Kellett and Tena (Ted) Seely. Preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Lillis, brother Dale, and sister Kay.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moroni Stake Center (82 N Center). Viewings, Friday November 22, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the Stake Center. Interment in the Moroni City Cemetery.
