LeRoy DeVere Swenson aka “Roy” passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and children. LeRoy was born in Ogden UT. to Boyd and Jessa Swenson on June 22. He was the oldest of 3 siblings. They moved to Salt Lake where he attended Elementary, JR. High and High School. He accomplished so many awards within the church, from primary awards, to his Eagle Scouts, and to graduating seminary. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Where they sent him to Sweden. After his return home he married Lila Peck and was blessed with a daughter, Shamra. He joined the United States Air Force and served 4 years as a APR radio technician and was then discharged with honors. He worked for KSL and later joined Utah Power and Light. He then divorced and met the love of his life, Tamara Horrocks, and asked her to be his for time and eternity on November 9, 1990. Within that marriage dad was blessed to be a part of his step-daughters lives, Kristina Ann and Holly Lynn. A year later they were blessed with a son, Michael Kade. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 4, 1995. Then came along their daughter BreAnna Lee. They later moved to Fairview UT, where dad and mom decided to make Fairview their home. LeRoy accomplished many things throughout his life and enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, skiing, biking, training his German Shepherds, Hokey Games and most importantly going to the showhouse to watch movies. Dad was always willing to lend a helping hand and would be there for anyone who needed anything. He found joy in working on genealogy and lost time in working in the Family History Center. Dad, you will be missed so much. LeRoy leaves behind his wife Tammy Swenson, children Michael and BreAnna Swenson, daughter Shamra Swenson, Kristina Hatch and Holly Horrocks. He had 11 grandchildren and 5-great grandchildren that he loved and cherished deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents Boyd DeVere Swenson and Jessa Dansie, brother Robert “Bob” Swenson, and granddaughter Tiawna Kaye Hatch. The family would like to thank IHC Home Care and Hospice for their care at this time, and for our wonderful friends and neighbors who expressed their love and care at this time.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 12:00 noon with a viewing one hour prior starting at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary. Interment in the Fairview City Cemetery.
