Leslie Diane Miramontes

January 29, 1958 — December 9, 2024

Moroni

Leslie Diane Busenbark Miramontes, born January 29, 1958, in San Francisco, California, was taken from us too soon on December 9, 2024, due to an unexpected medical event. The youngest of four children, she was born to Duane and Fay Busenbark of Moroni, Utah.

Leslie later moved to Utah, where she spent time in Salt Lake City with her sister Arlene, and in
Moroni where she met and married Jesus Miramontes. Together, they welcomed their son, Victor Miramontes, in 1979. Victor was their pride and joy and Leslie’s best friend. When Victor was a teenager, they moved to Colorado. Tragically, Victor passed away in 2003. After this devastating loss, Leslie and Jesus moved to New Mexico and Mexico. In time, Leslie and Jesus parted ways and Leslie returned to Moroni, Utah.

Life presented Leslie with many hardships, but she met each challenge with incredible strength, grace, and resilience. In Leslie’s later years, she found peace and joy, surrounded by her family and friends. Leslie deeply loved animals, particularly cats, who were her faithful companions. She also enjoyed socializing with friends and could often be found chatting at the Moroni Sinclair with her dear friend Sally and the other ladies who worked there.

Leslie was known for her kind and welcoming spirit, contagious laugh, and big smile. She had a unique ability to make people feel valued and appreciated. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Leslie’s warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Leslie will be greatly missed, especially by her sister, Arlene. Their bond was incredibly special, and it will be cherished forever.

We are deeply grateful to Sally for being there for Leslie and taking her to her appointments. It brought us comfort to know that Leslie was in such caring hands. We also want to thank Leslie’s niece, Sara, for attending to Leslie’s medical needs and for being there for her when she needed it most.

Leslie is survived by her sister, Arlene Duncan, and brother-in-law, Juan Aguado; nieces Elisa (Ryan) Campbell, Regina Duncan, Sara (Jose) Calderas, and Christina Aguado; and nephews Bob Aguado and Christopher (Angela) Busenbark, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Victor; nephews Juan Carlos Aguado and Timothy Busenbark; her father, Duane Busenbark; mother, Fay Busenbark; sister, Pauline Aguado; and brother, John Busenbark.

A celebration of Leslie's life will be held at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mount Pleasant, UT, on December 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During this time, we will read her eulogy and invite friends and loved ones to share their memories of Leslie. Following the service, there will be a blessing of the grave at the Moroni Cemetery. Afterward, a lunch will be served at the Moroni Gym, located at 250 North Center Street, Moroni, UT.
