1/26/1946 ~ 11/19/2022
In the early morning hours Saturday, November 19, 2022 Rae Buckberry left this world no fuss just quietly in typical Rae fashion. Lola Rae Johansen was born January 26, 1946 to Boyd & Lola Funk Johansen. Her family traveled a lot when she was younger but came back to Sanpete County, settling in Chester, Utah in 1961. Rae attended and graduated from North Sanpete High in 1964. She was a varsity Cheerleader for 3 years. No one had more fun in high school than Rae and her sidekick Rita. They both looked back at these years with a lot of laughter and good memories. Rae was a beautiful striking blonde and had so much class and elegance but also had a crazy quirky side.
In May of 1966 she married Travis Bergeson and they settled in Preston, Idaho. They had 4 sons Erik, Nels, Vance and Boyd. Rae and Trav divorced later. In 1996 she married Chris Buckberry. He was from Canada. Shortly after they moved to Sanpete County and resided in Mt. Pleasant.
She is preceded in death by her son Nels, her parents, Boyd and Lola and Chris. She is survived by her sons Erik his wife Brandy, his children Karly, Wyatt and McKenna of Moses Lake, WA; Vance of Sandpoint, ID; Boyd and his wife DaVey of Cambodia; brother Earl and Pat Johansen and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved; she is also survived by her cousin and good friend J B Harward.
Rae’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Her family is honoring these wishes. She will be greatly missed by Suzie her little dog and by her several close friends, you know who you are.
We know she knew she was loved and cherished by her family and friends and by her boys. Bye for now Lola Rae
