Mabel Stratton Ison

Our Dear sweet mother Mabel Stratton Ison, a native of Snowflake, Arizona passed away on October 28, 2024 at her home in Holden, Utah. She was born to William Raymond Stratton and Millie Bertha Hunt in Snowflake, AZ on 13 March 1925. Mabel was the fourth child of five children. She is survived by ten of her twelve children: Ray ( Ada), Wanda Randall (Harry), Orlo ( Devera), JS (Cheryl), Elona Merrill (Terry), Donna Warren (Patrick), Lorna Stevens (Roger), Jay ( Sue), Anita Port ( Richard), Shela Gordon (Mike). She is preceded in death by her husband James Lincoln Ison and baby twin daughters Lanette and Janette.

Her extended family includes12 children. 58 grandchildren, 189 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren. At the time of Mabel's death she lived with her daughter Lorna and her son-in-law Roger Stevens, who provided a loving, caring home for her in the last years of her life.

Mabel was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint, and served in numerous callings throughout her life. She was a Relief Society President, Primary Teacher,Primary President, Stake Primary President, visiting and ministering sister. Temple Work & Organist for Mesa AZ Temple, for 25 years.

A missionary mother for four of her sons. In addition, she served two full-time missions in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Mexico City, Mexico.

Funeral services will be held in the Holden Ward, (100 N. 110 E.) Holden Utah on November 9th 2024 at 11 am, with a viewing at 9 that morning. Interment will be 3 pm next to her eternal sweetheart James Lincoln Ison, in Wales cemetery, Utah (92 S. 200 W.).
