Marlene Grace Christensen McConnell, age 72, passed away on August 24, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in La Verkin, Utah. Marlene was born on October 22, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Frayne Wilford Christensen and Pearl May Johansen. She was the only girl and the youngest of six children. She was just ten minutes younger than her twin brother Marlin.
Marlene has many talents. Some she was born with and others she picked up along the way. She was an amazing decorator and loved remodelling houses. She enjoyed painting, crafting, playing the piano and she had a knack for making others laugh with her sometimes goofy personality.
Marlene worked in a variety of different fields throughout her life. She worked as a beautician for decades either full time or on the side. She spent ten years as a correctional officer at the Central Utah Correctional Facility. Both of which were jobs that she truly loved and excelled at.
She married the love of her life, Stan McConnell in July of 2004. She loved her family more than anything and there was no limit to what she would do for them. Her three boys were her world. She was the most loving and supportive mother to her boys; always encouraging and positive. She loved to read biblical books and scriptures with them. She always said her boys were her greatest blessings of all. Then she had grand babies and couldn't describe her love for them in words. She spoiled her grandchildren every chance she got.
Marty loved animals. She spent so much time with little Tippy and Sissy and she loved it. She wouldn't have it any other way. She was so nurturing.
You could count on crime documentaries on her television when you stopped by to see her and her smile lighting up the room. She was always the life of the party with her contagious laughter.
She was an inspiration to us all and will be dearly missed.
Preceded in death by her mother Pearl May Johansen, father Frayne Wilford Christensen, brothers, Roger Frayne Christensen, Garnelle Hugh Christensen, Granddaughter Kiley J Thompson
