Mary Ann was the embodiment of all things mom. She loved hard and with a ferocity you felt down to your core. If you were one of hers you knew. Her child, her husband, family or friend, if you were someone she claimed in life you knew. She was always very passionate about being present in the lives of her family and helping anyone in need. She was a loving and strong person who’d hug you back together and put you on your feet, or… kicked you in your hinny if you needed it. Family meant everything to her and she spent everyday proving that very thing.

Not one person fought harder for you or with you, then Mary Ann. She taught her family what it meant to be there unconditionally. Family has no bounds, conditions or lines and when you’re in it you’re in it forever. In the same room or far across the nation, where ever her family ended up she’d always be the one reaching out to you. Letting you know she cared.

Animals and children had a particular soft place in her heart. There wasn’t ever an animal in need Mary Ann spotted that was left wanting. She would drop all she was doing to take care of some stray creature and make it well again. And if you were to ask anyone who knew her, they would say the same can be said for the people that came into her life as well. She was a fighter and a nurturer. A force to be reckoned with. The woman could stare down the devil.

Her favorite days were spent with her husband, children and grandchildren at gatherings or on the days she spent at her ranch in Sanpete county were she would explore the land. Taking wildlife photos, four wheeling, fishing and camping when the sun was up and at the end of her day she would come back home and gaze about her “Cement Garden” that she was so proud of creating with gifts from those who loved her and who she loved in return. It was a magnificent collection of solar lights, fairies, birds and angels and it lit up the night as well as her heart.

Mary Ann began her life in Fort Worth Texas on August 2nd 1967. She married the love of her life, Vince Swim, on May 16th in 1991 and had 6 children. She moved around the nation being a proud military wife until Vince parted from the navy and her family settled in North Salt Lake, Utah. There she raised a beautiful family to adulthood creating memories and moments that will stand still in time. She and her husband started building a ranch up on their land in Sanpete county and she couldn’t of been happier up She was a fighter and a nurturer. A force to be reckoned with. The woman could stare down the devil.there in the county. And in her honor her husband and family will continue her dream.

Greeting Mary Ann in Heaven is her grandmother and grandfather Louise and Guy Summerfield as well as her father Philip Dale Summerfield.

Mary Ann is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Fisher, her brothers Dale and Tim Summerfield, Her husband and soul mate Vince Swim and their children Janie and Trevor Bentley, Cortney Emfinger, Harkin and Vanessa Swim Christian and Bailey Swim, Colton and Erica Swim, Shane Swim, and their grandchildren, Chole, Gabriel, Boaz, Dakota, Annarose, Paisley, and Nora, as well as many other sad hearts left behind.

Her presence was powerful. She will always be loved and she will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fairview City Cemetery.
