4/22/1938 ~ 3/12/2023
Merlin L Wilson passed away peacefully at home March 12, 2023. He is survived by six of his seven sons, Danny (Jana), Kenneth (Tammy), Steven (Lisa), Rick (Jamie), Michael (LeAnna), and Jason (Nicole); as well as his sister, LaRita Torrens. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Georgia Rae Zimmerman, his father, Ronald, mother, Hattie, his brother, Ray, and his son, Ronald Howard, Ronald’s wife, Jenancy, and their daughter, Pricilla.
Merlin was born on April 22, 1938, in Provo, Utah. He grew up in Provo and learned to work hard on the family farm. He met his sweetheart, Georgia, when he was just 20 years old, and after a short courtship they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They loved their 7 sons immensely and worked and sacrificed to give them a happy and secure life. They started their life together in Provo, and raised their family primarily in Provo, Orem and Pleasant Grove. They moved to Sanpete County in 2004, and lived in Ephraim, Mayfield, and the last 13 years in Fountain Green. Merlin worked for over 45 years as a mechanic and was highly respected and sought-after for his skills and knowhow. He loved to sing and would break into song at any time, usually some old country song, and remembered every word of many. He had a wonderful deep, bass voice. Merlin was committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in several different callings. He missed Georgia deeply since her passing in 2021, and we are sure of their joyful reunion in the spirit world. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 17, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Fountain Green 2nd Ward Chapel (151 S 200 W). Viewing prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment in the Fountain Green City Cemetery.
