Mont Craig Nielson, 69, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at Central Valley Medical Center, in Nephi, Utah. Craig was born at St. Rose de Lima hospital, in Henderson, Nevada, on January 15, 1950. Shortly thereafter he was adopted by Mont and NaDean Nielson of Fountain Green, Utah. They later adopted his younger sister Lynette Nielson Cole. Craig is survived by his sons, Chad (Klaudia) Nielson, the late Clay (Brandi) Nielson, Cal (Kim) Nielson, Michael (Chantel) Nielson, daughter Melyn (Griff) Lund and 12 loving grandchildren. Craig is proceeded in death by his parents, Mont and NaDean Nielson along with his son, Clay Craig Nielson. Craig was a loving father, husband, grandfather and a friend to everyone. Craig graduated from North Sanpete High school in 1968. After high school, he also completed his courses at Western School of Heavy Equipment in Wyoming, where he went on to become a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years. Growing up in rural Utah, Craig cherished the outdoors. He loved to share his stories of being out on the West Desert and up on the Big East as a kid. Craig enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, looking forward to the next get together. Craig enjoyed sitting on his front porch with a cold “Natty”, ready to welcome the next passerby. “Travel light and go well balanced” Love ya pops.
A graveside service will be held Friday June 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. held at the Fountain Green Cemetery. Online condolence rasmussenmortuary.com
