Olaf Brant George, (79), of Kanosh, Utah, passed away peacefully in his home on April 2, 2023.
Brant was born April 19, 1943 to Olaf Weldow George and Blanche Stevens George in
Fillmore, Utah. His childhood was split between summers herding his family’s sheep on the Tushar Mountain range west of Marysville and Kimberly, Utah and the winter sheep camps on the west desert of Kanosh, Twin Peaks.
Brant Graduated from Millard High School in 1961. Shortly, after graduation he married his childhood sweetheart Karen Robison George in the Salt Lake City Temple and they had 5 children together. Later they divorced.
In 1990, Brant was introduced to Ruthann Ingram Garrett by mutual friends. Their love quickly blossomed and they married a year later in Nephi, Utah. They spent the next 30 years devoted to caring and loving one another.
Brant always treasured the time he spent on his horse on the family’s sheep and cattle
ranch, which was known as G-Bar Ranch. He was also a great farmer and sacrificed many hours on the farm growing feed for his livestock. He used to say, “the real purpose of a
farm was to raise boys”, which he did with his sons throughout the years.
In his later years, he traded his horse for a semi-truck and traveled the country hauling various loads. He loved his family, and enjoyed sharing memories of his life with them especially, on Sunday drives through the mountains and desert ranges he grew up on.
He is survived by his wife Ruthann Ingram George, and children, Gale (Liz), Norman
(Sherrill), Brandon ( Jennifer), Kimberly, Lori (Jeremy), Kevin (Leslie), Michelle (Kevin),
David (Natalie), and 30 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Ray (Sharon-deceased), Sterling (Margo), Helen (Vance), Deanna (Harold),
and Marylouise (Linford), along with many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, and 2 grandchildren, Chelsie Dawn, and Dalton.
