Roma Jean Jensen Mower, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on February 1, 1940, in Moroni, Utah, Roma was the middle child of Charles Wilford “Bill Freedom” Jensen and Pearl Morley Jensen.
Roma grew up in the quiet beauty of Moroni Utah, attending Moroni Elementary, two years in the Moroni High School and graduating from North Sanpete High School. She went on to earn her degree from Snow College, where she developed a lifelong love of learning and community.
She was the proud and devoted mother of five children—two daughters and three sons—who were the joy and focus of her life. Her love and legacy continue through her 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Roma found happiness in life’s simple and heartfelt moments. She had a true passion for gardening—frequently found with her hands in the earth and a warm smile on her face. An avid bowler, she enjoyed participating in several leagues over the years, finding joy in both the game and the friendships it brought. One of her greatest joys was traveling, with many memorable trips to Yuma with dear friends and alongside her best friend and eternal companion, Clair DeVon Mower. Together, they embraced life’s adventures, finding peace and joy in the sunshine of Southern Utah. Their shared journey included serving an LDS mission to Heber Valley Girls Camp and working side by side as ordinance workers in the St. George Temple—experiences that brought them both deep spiritual fulfillment.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl, and her older brother, Ronald Jensen. Roma is survived by her loving husband, Clair DeVon, and their children: Michelle (Lane) of Hurricane, Utah; Dewayne of Fountain Green, Utah; Laurel (Jubal) of St. Anthony, Idaho; Kevin (Tiffany) of Hurricane, Utah; and Daniel (Allynne) of Mt. Pleasant, Utah and her devoted sister and friend, Maurine Liddiard, Hurricane, Utah.
A viewing for family and friends will take place Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Fountain Green LDS ward building at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at the Moroni City Cemetery. All family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life and luncheon to be held immediately after the burial at the home of DeWayne Mower at 95 East 200 South, Fountain Green Utah to honor and remember the incredible life Roma lived.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Haven memory care unit and Dixie Hospice for their tender care during Roma’s final days.
Roma’s kindness, grace, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
