Ron Kenneth Day

March 31, 1959 — June 25, 2023

3/31/1959 ~ 6/25/2023

Ron Kenneth Day, loving husband, son, brother, father, and papa passed away, after battling long term health issues, on Sunday June 25, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born March 31, 1959, in Fillmore Utah to Kenneth and Annette Day. During his high school years Ron loved to play sports, among them were football, basketball, and baseball. He was also involved in track and field. He graduated from Millard High School in 1977. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fresno, California.
On September 1, 1983, he married the love of his life, Beverly Taylor in the Jordan River Temple. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this year. They were blessed with 3 daughters: Jamie, Nichole and Natalie, 1 son: Kamron, 15 grandchildren and one on the way.
Ron was very involved in the community. He was a volunteer firefighter, a BLM firefighter, a member of the East Millard Riding Club, and helped coach the Millard baseball team with Gary Robins and Phil Blad.
He also served as a member of the Millard County Sheriff’s Posse for 25 years. Ron held many callings within his church, including primary and Sunday school teacher, but his favorite was Scouting.
Ron was a people person and made friends wherever he went. He loved to sit and visit, catching up on all the community happenings. His love of helping people began while working side by side with his dad at their Texaco Gas Station.
One of Ron’s greatest delights was being a sideline supporter of both his kids and grandkids. He hardly ever missed a tumbling meet, dance competition, softball, baseball, basketball, soccer, or football game, and you could always find him on the side of the wrestling mats. He was always there cheering on his kids and grandkids.
Family was the most important thing to Ron. He would do whatever he needed to make sure they had what they needed or got them to where they needed to be. He was a devoted husband and loving father, but Papa was by far his favorite role. He loved his grandkids fiercely and was so proud of each and every one of them!
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; his mother Annette Day; his children; Jamie (Dustin) Walton, Nichole (Danny) Briceno, Natalie Hem, and J Kamron (Kaitlyn) Day; brothers, Jan (Tina) Day, Jay (Julie) Day; and his 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father: Kenneth Day.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2023, at the Fillmore 4 th Ward LDS chapel, 290 East 500 South, Fillmore, Utah with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. A Friday night viewing will also be held on June 30, 2023, from 6-8pm at the same location.
Our family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Delta and Fillmore Facilities as well as the community. A Special thanks to the Hospice nurses for their care in his last days.
