On December 30, 2024, Sara Leora Aagard Ivie passed away in Santaquin Utah. She was the oldest of five children born to Fern Aleta Tunbridge and Sonnie Lee Aagard, on February 14, 1940 in Levan Utah. On July 13, 1957, Leora married Garry Scott Ivie in Las Vegas Nevada, they were later sealed in the Manti temple. Scott's work had them living in Delta, Moab, and Fillmore Utah.
Leora was an accomplished seamstress. In her early years she sewed many beautiful clothes for her sisters, children, and ladies in the community. She worked as a Bookkeeper for First Security Bank during her years living in Moab, and later as a lunchroom worker/manager for Fillmore Elementary school. She loved her job, coworkers, and the children she served.
Hard work was what gave mom purpose. She was a very independent and strong lady. She spent many hours out in her large yard keeping it perfectly manicured. Being widowed at an early age required her to develop many useful handyman skills that she could take pride in. Her favorite pass time was fishing with her children and grandchildren.
Before illness prevented it, she enjoyed road trips, and adventures to Mesquite with her friend Barbara.
Leora is survived by her three children: Cindy (Tim) Turner of Kanosh UT, Connie (Edward) Vidmar, Salem UT, and Russell (Jill) Ivie, Richfield UT. Sisters Sheila Howard and Nanette Barrett, eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, infant sister, and grandson.
Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, in the Fillmore 4th Ward Church with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a brief service to follow. Interment in the Fillmore Cemetery.
We would like to thank the staff at Seasons of Santaquin for the care and love they showed our mother during her stay.
