Saria May Barney

Saria May Barney entered the world on a late summer day in 2001. From that day, the world was a brighter place.
The things that she fell in love with became something special to anyone who knew her. She would describe what she loved and her eyes would light up. It might be a new puppy, or an adventure with her brother, cousins, or friends. Any upcoming adventure captured her interest and passion.
Her smile was infectious and beautiful. Her positive view of even difficult situations would help friends and family through tough times and would make her an inspiration to anyone who is intimidated with a difficult task.
There will always be a special place in her heart for those in her family. She frequently referred to her mother as her best friend. They spoke by phone every day when the conversation couldn’t be in person. The only exception to this norm was while Saria was at Basic Training.
Saria was quick to look out for others with love and action. Her brothers and sisters were the first place that she would go to provide service and support; however, not far behind her siblings were the several pets that found their way into her heart.

New friends were quick to find her because of her loving, positive and fun loving personality. She made friends quickly and they then developed into lifelong bonds for both parties.
Saria expected the best from herself and from family as well as her closest friends.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery (800 S 100 E, Mt. Pleasant). Friends and family may gather there at 10:00 a.m. prior services. A Wake will follow at the family home (488 N 100 W, Mt. Pleasant).
