Shauna Lynn Stevens was born on April 28, 1964 in Murray, Utah and peacefully passed away at home on July 4, 2024 after a courageous battle from a terminal illness.
She lived in a number of locations in the Salt Lake Valley and then moved to Spring City about 20 years ago with her husband, John R Stevens, where they built their beautiful home and businesses. Shauna was a daughter, sister, wife and mother of three, and a grandmother. She owned her own ranching and equestrian business outside of Spring City.
From a young age she had a deep love for horses and enjoyed spending time with them. She was often found outdoors riding the mountain trails, and helping family and friends on their annual cattle drives. She shared her interest in horses with her daughters, where they spent numerous summers riding and competing in horse shows. She loved her horses, dogs and cats, and all animals loved her back. She was always looking out for the well being of animals and would help find homes for rescued animals. She liked professionally competing in and judging equestrian events and horse shows, from jumping and dressage to ranch work.
She was active for over 20 years in the Utah 4H Program, where she enjoyed teaching and mentoring 4H participants in horse husbandry and horse riding skills. She donated her time and talents helping the local horse community and youth.
Shauna enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. She traveled to and visited many areas of the United States, and especially liked to go Alaska to fish for halibut and salmon and visit the warm beaches of Hawaii. She also liked to visit National Parks, historic areas and experience the local history.
Shauna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she thoroughly enjoyed participating in Family History and Temple work.
One of Shauna’s greatest joys in life was to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved baking cookies, sharing her adventures, travel and outdoors activities with her five grand kids.
Shauna is survived by her husband, John R Stevens, her three children: daughter Shaelyn Little (Bobby); daughter Stephanie Cox (Dusty); and son Carl Graves (Jazmine); and five grand children: Ryder Little, Klarice Little, London Irons, Allie Irons, and Emerson Davis.
She is also survived by her father, Steve Fergus (Margie); her mother, Hazel Adele Patterson; brother, Jeff Fergus; sister, Laura Jo Montoya (Frank); sister, Dianna Burden (Larry); brother Steven Fergus; brother, Phil Fergus (Sheila); sister, Julie Ward. She was proceeded in death by her brother, Stevens Ted Fergus, and her grandparents.
