2/23/1946 ~ 3/16/2023
On March 16, 2023, I, Susan Kay Parkinson Remington passed away returning to the arms of my Heavenly Father, family and friends I’ve sorely missed. It will be a joyful and happy reunion with my beloved family members who have gone before me. What a glorious and happy event it will be.
I was born February 23, 1946 to Doris and Harold Ambler in Ogden, Utah. They were divorced. My mother later married Lee K. Parkinson and that union became an Eternal one for our family when we were sealed in the Temple of the Lord. Lee adopted all four of the children Doris had. I loved both of my fathers.
I am survived by my husband Garry R. Remington, one step-son, Ryan (Sheri) Remington, Vernal, UT, two step-daughters, Jori (Steve) Cook, Mesquite, NV and Natalie Remington, Layton, UT. I was blessed with 15 wonderful grandchildren and 15 precious great-grandchildren. The joy of having children of my own was denied me in this life but I know I will be able to more than make up for it in my life to come.
I am also survived by my brothers and sisters: Larry (Laura) Parkinson, Sue Parkinson, David (Barbara) Parkinson, Kenneth (Carol) Parkinson, Pauline Hone, Jan (Roger) Palmer, Kevin (Collette) Parkinson and many nieces and nephews.
Garry Remington and I were married on May 20, 2004 in Phoenix, AZ and our marriage was solemnized in the Las Vegas Temple on September 26, 2009. What a beautiful day that was for me.
I loved music, playing the piano, art, reading, painting, and gardening. Those talents and abilities brought much satisfaction and joy to my life.
I was blessed with many special life-time friends who influenced, encouraged and loved me. They each know how much I valued and loved their existence in my life. I will always treasure their friendship, love and support in the bad times and the good, never to be forgotten.
I was privileged to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart and soul. I bear you my solemn testimony, that I know that God lives, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that He atoned for you and I, making possible Eternal Life with our Heavenly Parents.
I
was preceded in death by my sweet mother, Doris Eleanor Harbertson Parkinson, my father Lee K. Parkinson, my biological father
Harold J. Ambler, my grandparents, Brigham Y and Gladys Harbertson, Uncle Lee
and Aunt Dee
Florence, Aunt Joyce Florence, Uncle Bob & Aunt Norma Harbertson, Uncle Elmer and Aunt Shirley Knowles. They will all be gathered to welcome me to Paradise.
I am especially grateful for the staff of Heritage Hills/Sandstone for their loving care and tender hearted service in caring for me this past year. They are amazing and wonderful people who have treated me with dignity, respect and loving hearts.
A celebration of my life will be held in Mount Pleasant, Utah, Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Stake Center, 295 South State Street.
