5/19/1957 ~ 9/10/2023
Timothy Prestwich Harris passed away on Sept. 10th, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born May 19, 1957, in Long Beach, CA to Oliver Bud Harris of Nephi, UT and Anna Electa Robertson of Moroni, UT.
Tim graduated in 1975 from East High School in Salt Lake City. Tim accomplished many things in his life. He retired from Abbott Pharmaceutical after 25 years of service. He was also a walking history book. Many people would say they learned more from Tim about history than they did in their history classes. Tim loved his older movies and TV shows. Seldom would you walk into a room and not see Tim watching “Turner Classic Movies”, his favorite TV channel. Tim was an avid reader and loved reading books about all the Presidents. He knew when they were born, when they died and when they served in office. He enjoyed going on walks around his neighborhood, riding his bicycle to the store and taking Trax to downtown Salt Lake City to the library where he’d spend hours. One of Tim’s favorite activities was going to Dee’s Family restaurant where, like in the TV show Cheers, everybody knew his name and would roll out the red carpet when he’d walk in the door.
Tim loved his family and friends more than anything. He was everyone’s Mr. Belvedere. Tim never had children, but he loved all his nephews and nieces as if they were his own. Tim will be greatly missed by his nephews and nieces, Todd Irving, Tyler (Carissa) Irving, and Anna (Tristan) West. His passing has left a big hole in our hearts.
Proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, James Harris and Frank Harris, sister Nora Harris, nieces Kristi Irving and Tiffanie Harris and nephew Jeremy Harris. He is survived by his sister Connie (Jim Dumas) Roper, brother Rick (Patsy) Harris, and sister Carole (Cliff) Mott and his special life-long friend Adeline Grayum, and many nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moroni Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Moroni Opera House.
